Prezado Marcelo Nunes,

No modifications are necessary to use biodiesel. As long as your engine is a diesel, you can use biodiesel.

Biodiesel is usable in its pure form, known as “neat biodiesel” or B100.

Biodiesel (B100) will run in ANY diesel engine.

Straight non-mixed Biodiesel (“B100” or “neat Biodiesel”) can also be burned as fuel in diesel engines, but greater precautions must be taken to ensure that the fuel is suitable for use.

Citação:
It can be used in its pure form (B100) or can be blended at any level with petroleum diesel. It can be used in diesel engines with few or no modifications.

Citação:
Is biodiesel used as a pure fuel or is it blended with petroleum diesel? Biodiesel can be used as a pure fuel or blended with petroleum in any percentage.

Citação:
One of the major advantages of biodiesel is the fact that it can be used in existing engines and fuel injection equipment with little impact to operating performance.

Citação:
B100 may cause rubber seals and gaskets from engines older than 1994 to wear faster or fail. Biodiesel also acts as a solvent, which can dissolve sediments in diesel fuel tanks and clog fuel filters during an initial transition from petroleum diesel. Despite these issues, some fleets are successfully using B100. Berkeley, California is successfully running 100% biodiesel in 90% of their public diesel fleet vehicles including fire trucks.

Citação:
Biodiesel runs in any conventional, unmodified diesel engine. No engine modifications are necessary to use biodiesel and there is no “engine conversion.” In other words, “you just pour it into the fuel tank.”
