Hi,
A friend of my wife's has an '07 Focus (manual tranny Sport model), and the check engine light came on. She thought it was because it needed an oil change because it was due and took it in (to the dealer), but the light was still on afterward. (Nevermind that they could have said something about that since they had the car all day.)I have have a code reader unit here that hooks up to a computer and tried to read it. It wouldn't read. My software acted like it was not connected to the car. It couldn't read the codes, or any other stats that it can normally read. I tried several combinations of connecting order and could not get it to work. Strange. So on the way home this friend stopped at an Autozone to have them read the code. They couldn't do it, either. Same problem as me - it could not connect to read any codes.Anyone heard of this before? What can be done?
Please help.
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
