I´m not sure but the OEM grill is plastic (yes, the original is plastic) and the second line, metal. Some of the OEM F-1000 sometimes breaks (temperature, vibration etc.) so, many owners change the original by the metal ones.

Thank you all for your help, and your English is good! my project is a 1967 ford f100, short bed, it was a 4x2 and I am in the process of converting it to a 4x4, I am using Dana 60 axles, the engine is a 460 with a c-6 automatic, The truck is currently dis-assembled. I saw pictures on the internet of the F1000 From Brasil and I thought that grill would really make my truck look different. And that is what I want, to look different than all the other 1967 f100's. this is my 1st Ford to build, up till now I have built Chevrolet's with a Suzuki Samurai every now and again, I have a 1986 Blazer and a 1987 Samurai that I use offroad, here is pictures of the truck before I tore it down.

Unfortunately we dont have much types in parts to Ford F1000 (F150), and this parts is very expensive in used parts market.
For example, I have a F1000 4x4 97, and e want intall a f250 4x4 axles, but this parts is about 50% of my truck price. We are talk to price of a used car. The used cars here is expensive too, so is not a good parameter to you. kkk
Therefore we have some envy of north america!

Very good looking truck, I would love to be able to get a diesel engine in a f100/f150, here the diesel engine is only for f250 and bigger, and they are big engines for power not fuel economy, a smaller diesel would be perfect for a f100 with 4x4, I do not understand fords thinking sometimes. MWM 4.10T 4.3L is a good engine. You can use the similar in USA, the Cummins 4BT 3.9L. Both engines have the same concept , weight and power output.

Another possibility is the High Speed International HS2.8L, used in Land Rover Defender. It is a light engine (+/-230kg) and is possible to find in USA.

This same year and model of Brazilian F1000 was a 2.5 liter HSD diesel engine. Exactly tha same engine of Land Rover Defender and MB Sprinter 310 n' 313. Was Ranger and S-10 with same engine too. Have a god speed e god average diesel economy. But dont resist like a MWM or Cummins engine.
Like Daniel says, tha MWM is similar with Cummins 4bt in power and mileage life. So much durable.

Now in afternoon I will go to the mail check this point. I looking for a F250 Hydroboost system to install on my F1000, because the vacum pump is with damage and the brake system is hard.

I would need to know what year your truck is, and we do not have ford trucks with Cummins engines, all of our diesel engines are Powerstrokes (made by international truck) if the bell housing is the same then a transmission goes for around 1400.00 USD or 3286.78 BRL, that is with transfer case, if you can use you transfer case it would be about 975.00 USD.

We have two periods do see.
Before 1992 and after 1992.

Before 1992 we had 4 and 5 gears, and final ratio was similar, with diferences just in differential ratio.

After 1992 to 1995, we had 2 gears box differents, one hard and one fragile to tork os MWM. Bolths clark, but one is with 5a drive and another with 5a 1:1.

In 1996 to 1998 we had the HSD engine with a Mazda gear box and to the MWM 4.3 liters, the clark gear box.
This Clark gear box is very famous by resistence and durability, with 5 speed gears. The last speed is 1:1 direct, so, the Ford used a long ratio differential. 3,07:1 on non-turbined engines and 4x4 because no have longer ratio to front differential for a F150 on USA. How this parts come from USA, we have a big engine but a reduced final ratio (my case). My F1000 4x4, on 100km/h ou 64mph is a 2000rpm with 33" tires. The maximum rpm to this engine is 3000, som don't permit travel with more speed to 140km/h. Over this the diesel consum is very high and the engine work very hot.

The 4x2 model have 2,72:1 and 2,54:1 differential ratio disponible, so the engine works lighter and the diesel consum is low tham 4x4 versions.

The HSD models have same transmition of F150 4.9i of 6 cilindres. Same, clutch, gear box and differential. Is normal install a diesel engine in this pickup truck model per cause of gasoline price in Brazil.

Price of combustibles in U$.
- Gasoline is U$1,26 per litre. In Brazil is not a pure gasolin, but gasolin mixed with about 25% of alcool, som the consum is raised compared with USA gasoline.
- Diesel is U$0,93 per litre.
- Alcool here were I live is U$1,00 per litre. No compenso to use this combustiblie here. We have a flex fuel engines to use alcohol or gasoline, but de differenci of price no compense to use a alcohol. Just on states that produce this fuel compense the use.

- Natural Veicular Gas ou GNV, is U$0,80, but no compense if you drive little, becauso of Brazilian governament is a joke, and requires a lot of controls to use this fuel. And is not all of engines work well with GNV. The 3.0 v6 Ranger, for example, the heads cracks with time when you use GNV...

Thank you for the information, I am rethinking which way I want to go with my truck, I have a 460 and a C-6 transmission for it, would give it great power but bad mileage. I also have a 302 and a C-4 transmission in the barn, But then after reading about the F-1000 I started thinking about diesel, I have a 1.9L TDI VW that is connected to a Toyota 5 speed that I could put in it, I'm just not sure if it would be big enough. The Cummins 3.9 4bt is kind pricey and if I got one I would still have to find a transmission that would be stronger enough to work behind it, I'm still in the early stages of building this truck so I have time to make a decision.

Mike, the C-6 transmissio fits on 3.9 4bt, but you need find a tork convertor with stall point apropriate to work rpm of cummins. I like so much of automatic transmission, unfortunely we dont have much kind of options in Brazil to this case. The 1.9tdi pushes tha F150, but slowly. When 4x4 high, you won't to like of results...

Just an observation (sorry the delay to answer your post, I was travelling)

Here in Brasil Ford "F-1000" uses Mazda M5R2 with Ford 300 cu-in and the "Land Rover" Maxion HS 2.5 high speed. And you can use the ZF 5S-420. I suppose it is not hard to find this pack. Our HS2.8 engine I know, you can find in USA because people are re-power some Defenders

I certainly will try to help all I can, Cummins makes the plates to put Dodge, GM and ford transmissions behind the 3.9, The problem will be if you want to stay with a ford overdrive (e4od) transmission you will need to buy a seperate controller to make it shift correctly, I will see if I can find all the required pieces online to show you what I am talking about.

Sorry I have not had the chance to get the information back to you, thing have been busy here. to put an automatic behind your diesel I would imagine it would need to be an overdrive unit, all ford overdrive that I know of are electronically shifted to put one in a truck that was not equipped with one from the factory you will need a controller The US Shift Transmission Control System (http://www.usshift.com/) like this one. the only 4 speed trans that I know of that is not electronic is the GM 700R4, but GM normally has the drop for the front differential on the opposite side as the ford, and once you buy the parts to change the transfer case it would be cheaper to use a ford trans to start with and buy the controller.

Cummins makes the rear engine plates to put almost any transmission behind the 3.9 and 5.9 engine, the allison 1000 in that video would require a ECU as well, That transmission was designed to stand up to 600 ft lbs torque and about 800 HP. You can use a aftermarket ECU on this trans as well. The joy about the Allison is that you can run a PTO off of it!

I can try to find an Allison 1000, used they sell for 1000 USD, rebuilt 3500 USD, the adapter plate for a allison to Cummings engine is 795.00 USD, Plus you will need a controller, The controller thur Destroked.com is 1599.00 usd, Our issue again is how to get it to you? The Allison 1000 weighs 335 pounds, I'm not sure who to contact on that. But I will check on shipping cost for an Item that big. If the Allison is going into a 4x4 I'm not sure is an adapter would be needed for the transfer case or not. let me check and I'll get back to you in a few days.

I have used both in off-roading, both has good points and bad points. I normally use the easiest to install and the one with the lowest price. In some trucks in the USA its cheaper to put an automatic than it is to use a manual transmission, thats mostly Fords, Chevrolet's and Dodge. the older 3 speed Automatics are cheap and plentiful, the 4 speeds are more expensive.

Greeting to all my friends in Brasil, Nothing much to say about the trucks, I've had no time to work on them, trying to get a house ready to sell and have been putting in 10 hour days on it. I'm hoping that I can start working on my f-100 by the 1st of November, Right now I'll be using the 302 V8 till a suitable diesel engine comes along, every 4 cyl diesel I have found here is high. That is where I think you are very lucky, I think that a small diesel would be the perfect engine for good MPG and good off-road torque. Soon as I get started on my truck I'll post up some pictures!

Bruno, The Cabover trucks were never very popular here in the USA, most of the bigger trucks are a conventional design, with the motor in the front. you sill see the cabover in some of the bigger cites but not out where I live.

The current wheels on my truck are chrome plated steel, 15x10 with a 5x5.5 lug pattern, I checked on shipping once before on wheels and it was over 1000.00 usd, thats the biggest issue between our countries is the shipping is so high.

Lincoln38 came through for me on the grill and all the needed parts to convert my truck to Brasillian standards, he's a really great guy, I still have not had the chance to get started on my truck, but as soon as I do I will post pictures!
